Pros:

- Unnecesary Energy System/Timers


Don't get me wrong, the game isn't terrible or hard, just repetative and tedious. The lack of windowed mode makes the game annoying to play along with other things your doing. And the energy system is probably the #1 way to make players mad at you. It doesn't persuade us to pay the company faster, just makes us want to stop playing faster. If you want to attract players, you need to consider the fact that players only want to play the game, for fun or to win, and don't want to be bogged down by a pointless and annoying set of timers. Sorry if I triggered someone, get over yourselves.. It's another Pay To Win game that was hosted on Kongregate and is now on Steam. The premise of the game is simple, knock your opponent's life to 0 before they do it to you. You have a deck of 15 cards and draw 3 at the start. On your turn, you play 1 card and draw another. Each card has a delay and can range from 0-3. Each card you play also has an attack power and health. If its health drops to 0, they die. The combat in this game is simply activate your special ability, all cards that can attack do so. Any enemy creatures that die disappear and the remaining creatures slide to the left.

Like any Pay To Win game, it's just like a jackpot machine. Keep dumping money in to get rare cards to win.

1. Simplistic
Very easy to learn.

CONS
1. Really Stupid Game
There's nothing interesting about it.

2. Rarity Creep
Each card has 3 different levels of rarity. The higher the rarity, the stronger it is.

3. Power Creep Upgrades
You need dust to upgrade your cards to unlock its abilities and improve its stats. If you don't upgrade your cards with dust, you are going to lose.

4. Pay To Win
So many examples of buying crystals and gold with real cash.. Put it this way:
The paywall you experience in this game can dramatically vary depending on the event available.

I started playing about a week ago. All I had to do is score 1 point on the PvE event to get 1 epic prize. My cards were too weak to do that. So at that point it looked unpleasant.

But I was 100% sure there are other events and they would treat me better.

Events prescribes a specific condition, either accumulating bounties, playing an event pve map, guild war or something else. Then everyone get prizes according to where they rank. Much like the good earlier years of mobile gaming, spearheaded by Blood Brothers in my experience. I dunno why this form of competition dwindled, other than that it was maybe too spammed at a time.

For example, the Empowered Spirit Clash right now lasts only a few days but it gives everyone a bunch of extra plays on top of the usual bounties and energy battles.

Scoring events can vary in many other ways including length from a few days to 2 weeks, and has its own extra bonuses like house rules, etc.

And before long, devs dropped 1000 arena points in my (and presuambly everyone else's) mailbox. That pulled me my first epic.

Every such stride can propel a free player to the next (small) level. You can now face stronger opponents build exprience at a higher level. Without that, admittedly, progress seemed painfully slow.

And now, there should be no doubt I can score 1 epic per event for most of them.

This game also have these "temporary" bonuses. So undeads get a big boost for like what still has another 6 weeks to run. After that, the meta changes again. Good for bad, not enough games shake up the playing field like this. Fun game, but horrendously time gated, with massive pay2win .

The core gameplay is pretty fun, but you won't be spending much time doing it, because when you start out you get 10 total points, missions take 1 point at first but eventually start costing more, I'm currently at 4 points per mission with 16 points total.. That means I can play 4 pve fights before I need to wait 40 minutes to do my next fight.

PvP doesn't cost energy but it's still timegated, you get I believe 5 bounties (pvp missions) and once you have a slot open it takes around 15 minutes to find a new bounty.

Upgrading cards seems fast at first, because you are getting dust from quest rewards, but eventually there are no more quests for dust, and destroying cards for dust only give 1 dust per normal card, you need 20 dust to upgrade your card to level 3.

Those problems are only if you go the free 2 play route, if you are very wealthy you can bypass all that crud, get some crazy op cards and basically run through everything.

If you want something to really get into, this isn't it. You only get to play this game for a few minutes every couple hours, it's just not worth it.

(Note: majority playtime from Kongregate). Pay2win pile of crap.
It's not even fun.
The game literally plays itself.. A glorified P2W mobile game with little to no choices and a linear career
